Museums

Anadeo Lefkada

Lefkada has numerous museums which shelter its history, as well as libraries with important artworks of writers and poets. The Archaeological Museum, located in the Cultural Center of Lefkada town, is one of the most remarkable ones. Its exhibits cover a chronological period from the Paleolithic era to the Roman ages and despite its small size, its findings have notable value. It is open daily and there is an entry fee.

You should also visit the Folkloric Museum that demonstrates items from the rural life of Lefkada as well as the Museum of phonographs with phonographs, records, historical coins and photographs.

Libraries

Anadeo Lefkada

Lefkada’s libraries host magnificent artworks that definitely deserve a visit. The Public Library was founded in 1953 and counts a remarkable volume of holdings and books, while it is studded with scenes of Heptanese art. Equally noteworthy though, is the Haramoglios Library, where you will find all kinds of newspapers, articles, photographs and books that are linked to Lefkada and its people. Finally, take your time to visit the Library of Nikos Svoronos (Greek historian) which displays his manuscripts and some of his personal belongings. The entry at all libraries is free and it is totally worth it.
